Kevin Griffin

Kevin Griffin joined NVIDIA after previously serving as a long-term research and visualization partner to the company through his work in high performance computing and scientific visualization. At NVIDIA, Mr. Griffin serves as a Senior Developer Technology Engineer where he supports researchers, engineers, and scientific teams in accelerating complex code, optimizing GPU performance, and advancing next generation visualization and rendering technologies.

Prior to joining NVIDIA, Mr. Griffin spent more than a decade at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. During his time at LLNL, he contributed to major national-scale scientific computing initiatives, including visualization systems for the National Ignition Facility and advanced simulation tools used across defense, energy, and research programs. His work supported mission critical scientific operations, large scale data interpretation, and accelerated computing solutions.Before his tenure at Lawrence Livermore, Mr. Griffin served on the faculty at San Joaquin Delta College, teaching introductory computer science and supporting student pathways into STEM fields.

He has also contributed to academic and community initiatives focused on expanding access to computing, including advisory and mentorship roles with programs in Tulsa through Tulsa Innovation Labs.Mr. Griffin earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Delaware, a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Tulsa, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis. His doctoral research involved large scale scientific visualization and smoothed particle hydrodynamics within high performance computing environments.
